When it comes to organizations and companies, I find that some are constantly over delivering and some are under delivering. For example, the companies that make the most money in the world are still exploiting resources and being generally irresponsible when it comes to civic duty and other sorts of moral issues. Then, every now and then, to balance that out, you find a Grassroots organisation that is growing up from the foundation of morality, social responsibility, and genuine creativity. When I was in Berlin recently, I experienced this with UNU. UNU does something that is absolutely amazing. They produce electric scooters that are totally environmentally sound. They don’t use any oil or gas, and the electricity they use is used in the most efficient way possible. For example, every time that you press the brakes, the energy that is wasted in that exchange is recycled and goes back into the battery. That is the type of commitment to Energy Efficiency that were talking about with UNU. UNU is a standard that I wish more would follow. If I lived in Germany, I would certainly be buying one of their scooters. They’re also very cool looking, and the company has all sorts of unique operations and amazing customer service. For example, they don’t actually manufacture the scooter until you order it. This it allows you to choose your color and the engine power of your preference. Then, once it’s manufactured, they deliver it to your door in a box. When you open that box, the scooter is fully assembled, and all you have to do is slide on your license plate. That’s the kind of customer service that I’m talking about. Truly remarkable. Really wanna elektroroller kaufen! (buy a scooter!)
